mission and project goals
mission statement
The Papillion Creek Watershed Project is dedicated to the sustained improvement of water quality in the Papillion Creek streams through public engagement and commitment.
goals and objectives
Achieve improved knowledge of the water quality of the Papillion Creek streams
• collect water quality data on the Papillion Creek system to augment and validate previously collected data
• conduct land use survey within the watershed
• thoroughly analyze all data for an improved understanding of the water quality of the Papillion Creek system
Identify Best Management Practices for targeted segments that display diminished water quality
• correlate water quality data with land use survey/conditions for identification of reaches with diminished water quality and the likely contributing pollutant sources
• develop a BMP plan to address the problems for these stream reaches or sub-basins
Convey this information/knowledge for improved BMP implementation and water quality awareness to the communities via a strong information marketing effort
• conduct a media campaign to convey water quality and BMP information to the residents, businesses, and target groups of the watershed to increase public awareness and education
